Which Elements Drive Photogenic

Is very important in being photogenic as most models have symmetrical faces.

People with symmetrical faces have balanced and proportional features, so one eye is not bigger than the other , the nose is centered on the face and the jawline is even.

Also the right bone structure plays a big role how your face will look like on camera.

There is something about the planes of their face, or the way their skin and hair and eyes absorb and/or reflect light, definition and get sort of washed out and shapeless in both face and body.

In person, a lot of what light and shadow is doing seems unimportant to our brains, so we don’t tend to notice it.

Cameras, on the other hand, capture light and shadow in another way and it as a lot to do with being photogenic.

Notice that angular faces aren’t as washed out by light.

Know Your Features

Focus on what makes you unique.

photogenic doesn’t mean beeing simply beautiful, there is a particulatity in each beauty and that what makes you unique on top of beeing photogenic, if you don’t like your noise for exemple, tell your self that it is what could make you special 😉

Then professional photographers ll make the job !

Knowing How to Pose

If you are not sure about your posing skills you can always practice in front of the mirror and try different attitudes, expressions to see what works best for you which angles makes you say that you’re being photogenic or not.

Let’s try with a friend or a family member, ask someone to take pictures of you from different angles and see how that works.

Look at fashion magazines or the work of established models to give you a better idea of what it’s like to pose the right way.

The more you’ll gain experience at posing the more you’ll be at ease and feel no more awkwardness with another person watching you pose for.

So if you are confortable in front of the camera ,it’s the 1rst step, then posing ll come with practice!

Now you know that some elements of being photogenic can be learnt.

Beauty is Subjective

Keep in mind that beauty is subjective and having a distinctive look will definitely set you apart.

You might have something special that agencies are looking for.

At the end it’s all about uniqueness and embracing your own special features.

There are not only pure physical criteria that define if you’re being photogenic or not.

In the Modeling World

Most models have angular faces, the ironical thing is that angular faces are often considered as strange looking in real life, but in the three-dimensional world  angles create shadowing.

Don’t count yourself out if you think that your face is too sharp as it might be your biggest asset.

But remember that there is no precise rule when it comes to beauty!
